Currently, when using a Wireguard VPN Connection, there is no way to force a WAN to connect the VPN. For IPSEC, instead, there's an option called "Connect via", that allows to select a WAN. In my opinion, it would be a nice touch to enable WAN selection also for Wireguard connections.
