When active connection pool grows up to 15к+, pppd starts to disconnect with "No response to 3 echo-requests" eror. My limits are raised up to 65536 (it's not unusual to have 25-35k connection open), and 4.0.4 worked just fine. But even if you reset limits down to 16384, it doesn't matter, v4.0.5 will start to reconnect every few minutes when you hit the upper limits. The only thing that I see remotely relevant in changelog is SYS-980, but idk why it affects pppd and/or echo packets.
