Wi-Fi mesh issue with 2+ wired extenders

Question

Posted

Hey Folks,

I have 1 controller (Keenetic Ultra KN-1810) and 2 extenders (Keenetic Speedster KN-3010). Some time ago I've found that because of the second extender connected as Wi-Fi mesh node, I was struggling to connect to any device even in LAN (even 192.168.1.1 did not work for me). My assumption was that this is something with OS and I rolled back all the nodes to lower version (do not remember exact version) from 4.1.x. Unfortunately this did not help and this was looks like the hardware issues with one of the extender (because w/o it everything works just perfect).

I replaced it to Keenetic Buddy 6 and as soon as I'm connecting it via the wire directly to the controller, the problem appears again. I can not even connect to 192.168.1.1 (the controller) from the device that does not connected through this extender node however the Wi-Fi connection is good. Currently I have all nodes (Ultra KN-1810, Speedster KN-3010, Buddy 6 KN-3411) updated to 4.2.6.1 version and only wireless connection of one of the extender (Buddy 6) works fine for me (the second extender (Speedster) is wired with the controller directly).

Does anyone has any idea why that's may happen and how to fix that? I assume there is no problem with my previous extender (Keenetic Speedster) because with wired Buddy I do see the same problem.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

With regards!

The issue was in connected switch to the controller. Seems like STP is the root cause of the issue.
