Mesh WiFi System with Ethernet Support

Question

Posted (edited)

Hello,

I have a gigabit connection at home and have two Keenetic devices. A Titan KN1811 and an old Carrier DSL. I've set these up with WiFi Mesh system to Titan is the controller and Carrier extends the wifi. The problem is I want to keep using Carrier for wired connection as well. The current set-up I have is that my TV is connected to Carrier over ethernet and Carrier is connected to Titan with ethernet. In this setup, everything that Carrier touches is 100 mbit max including the wifi. If I remove the ethernet connection between two Keenetic devices, then WiFi is boosted to 867 mbit but the TV connection is dropped.

Can I have it so my TV is still connected to Carrier with ethernet, and have my mesh at 867 mbit? So Carrier wifi is still 867 mbit and only ethernet connections on Carrier are 100mbit AND there is no ethernet between two Keenetics.

Hi, you can do that. If you're having trouble turning on the Wi-Fi backhaul, please contact tech support in your country. Of course, 867 Mbit will be shared between backhaul and wireless devices on the same radio channel, so you will not get that much.
